Bra Size Guide
Bra Size Guide
The measured size serves as a guideline, and a good place to start. It is best if someone else can measure you, so your arms remain at your side during the measuring. The size offering optimum comfort can only be determined by trying on the bra.
1. Band = UNDER-BUST measurement: Stand with your arms at your side, you can still be wearing your bra. Measure (in centimetres) around the body directly under the breasts (where the bra band is), with the tape measure firmly in place and straight.
2. Cup = OVER-BUST measurement: Again whilst wearing your bra, ask someone to measure around the widest point of your breasts (again in centimetres). Stay relaxed, keep your arms lowered, and breathe normally, as holding your breath can affect the measurement.

Single mastectomy:
Do the under-bust measurement as above, and do the following for the over-bust measurement:
HALF OVER-BUST measurement: Whilst wearing a bra, with your arms by your sides, ask someone to measure (again in centimetres) halfway round from the centre of your chest wall at the sternum to the centre of your back, over the fullest part of the remaining breast. Then double this figure to get the over-bust measurement.

Then use this chart to determine your bra size:

Double/bilateral mastectomy:
Measure your under-bust as above, but then you can choose your cup size. Did you like your breast size before surgery - or would you prefer to be smaller or bigger? Keep in mind it should be proportionate to your hip size.
